Lovely lil’ Watercolors in July

2017

Lovely Lil’ Watercolors in July has 18 out of 31 images shown. The original watercolors were painted on 3”x3”-ish 140lb, hot press and cold press watercolor paper. The theme for this project was to paint images based on my life in Denali, AK. At the time I was spending my summer working for a cabin resort bartending and realized halfway through that I wasn’t creating enough. I was able to explore parts of Alaska that I may never get to see again and wanted to document those experiences. Mid way through the project, the owner of 220 Parks Restaurant, Laura, asked me if I would like to have a gallery showing in her building. I was able to display all 31 for a one night pop-up art show. 20 of the 31 had sold. Due to limited resources at the time, some digital images were lost and unable to be shown in the collection today. This experience was created a turning point in my personal life and career while solidifying my love for National and State parks.
